Track your listening history across Spotify, YouTube Music, and 15+ other apps without ever sharing your data with big tech.
Your listening history is yours alone. Tempo processes everything locally on your device, ensuring zero data leakage.
Uses minimal power by leveraging Android's native NotificationListenerService.
Full functionality without an internet connection.
High-res album art, genres, and heavy rotation insights from MusicBrainz and Spotify API (optional).
Tempo is a standalone music stats app, not just a scrobbler. It stores your listening history locally on your device, works without any account, and focuses on deep insights and visual stories rather than social features.
Yes. Tempo is privacy-first and open source. All your listening data stays on your phone. We don't have servers, and we don't collect any user analytics. You are in full control of your data.
Connecting Spotify is completely optional. It's used *only* to fetch better metadata (genres, high-res cover art) for your tracks. Tempo tracks your music via notifications, so it works even without Spotify.
Currently, no. We stick to YouTube Music to ensure we only track actual songs. Regular YouTube often mixes in non-music videos (vlogs, tutorials), which would clutter your music stats.
Not at the moment. As a student developer offering this app for free and without ads, the high cost of the Apple Developer Program makes an iOS version impractical right now.
Since data is local, it currently lives on your device. We are working on a Google Drive backup feature (similar to WhatsApp) so you can easily restore your listening history on a new phone.
Tempo is built with a different philosophy: you shouldn't have to trade privacy for insights. Unlike streaming services that lock your data in their silos, Tempo aggregates your history locally.
